P-63 Water Interface Kingsbay

The scope of work included the installation of a temporary cofferdam in the open bay, followed by the removal of existing vegetation and excavation from +7 to -18 feet within the cofferdam. A permanent King/Sheet Pile system, spanning approximately 470 linear feet, was installed to create a new Land/Water Interface (LWI). The LWI was stabilized using a concrete pile anchor system with 3.5” tie rods and encapsulated with 5,000 psi marine concrete walls and cap. The entire LWI was further protected by surrounding it with filter fabric, bedding stone, and an 8-foot-thick layer of riprap, extending 40 feet into the bay on three sides.
